RSK expands renewable capabilities in Ireland through Inis Environmental Consultants

Leading environmental, engineering and technical services group RSK has added significant capability to its ecology and renewables offering following the acquisition of Irish specialist ecological services business Inis Environmental Consultants.

The County-Clare-based consultancy firm, which was founded 22 years ago, offers a multidisciplinary approach and assists private individuals, corporations, government bodies and blue-chip businesses with a full portfolio of ecology assessment services and survey techniques.

The business works largely in Ireland’s renewable energy sector, a market that is anticipated to grow significantly over the next five to ten years after the government committed to at least 70% of electricity coming from renewable sources by 2030. The strategic acquisition supports RSK’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with Inis in prime position to help achieve goal 7, to “ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all”.

By joining RSK, Inis will be able to maximise on these growth opportunities as both companies work together to deliver solutions to this buoyant market.

Managing Director Howard Williams will continue to lead the business, supported by the existing Inis leadership team, as his 26 employees join the group. Inis will become part of RSK’s European division led by Nigel Board, Divisional Director and RSK Group Ltd board member.
