Collaboration with Clariant Catalysts for KBR’s ammonia technology
KBR’s low carbon Ammonia technology combined with Clariant’s catalysts is designed to optimise cost and maximise efficiency.
Building on the long track record of success traditional and several low-carbon ammonia projects, KBR and Clariant Catalysts have extended their collaboration for another decade. This will include traditional and green ammonia applications, with a strong focus on innovative low and zero carbon ammonia projects.
The integrated solution from KBR and Clariant Catalysts combines industry-leading technologies to enhance the economics and energy efficiency of ammonia production.
The energy transition has reshaped ammonia applications from a crucial ingredient in fertilizers to a decarbonized carrier and supplier of hydrogen that’s easy to store and transport. The global ammonia market is projected to triple by 2050, driven by rising demand for low-carbon ammonia in shipping fuel and power generation.
KBR is a world leader in ammonia technology and has licensed 260 ammonia plants worldwide since 1943.
Clariant Catalysts is a global and independent manufacturer of energy-efficient catalyst technologies shaping a sustainable future for the chemical industry.
