Carbon Clean signs agreement with Julius Montz completing CycloneCC’s supply chain
Carbon Clean, a leader in revolutionising carbon capture solutions, today announced a strategic supplier framework agreement with Julius Montz, a German company fully owned by global engineering company Koch Engineered Solutions (KES). Carbon Clean’s end-to-end supply chain for manufacturing its modular CycloneCC technology, including the recently launched columnless C1 series, is now in place, marking a significant step towards the product’s full commercialisation.
Under the framework agreement, Montz will ensure a robust supply chain for the packing technology of the rotating packed beds (RPBs) in Carbon Clean’s breakthrough modular CycloneCC technology. This patented metal packing, manufactured by Montz, sits within the RPB. The centrifugal force generated by the RPB intensifies the absorption of emitted CO2, amplifying the high performance of Carbon Clean’s proprietary APBS-CDRMax solvent and the metal packing.
Montz will also work collaboratively with Carbon Clean’s Research and Development (R&D) team to further optimise designs as CycloneCC is developed to meet the needs of the fast-changing market. With this strategic agreement, Carbon Clean will also have access to several KES internal capabilities globally to continue to explore innovation possibilities for commercialisation and scaling of the CycloneCC technology.
Aniruddha Sharma, Chair and CEO, Carbon Clean, said: “Signing this agreement with Montz completes the final piece of the jigsaw for our CycloneCC supply chain. This is an important step towards the product’s full commercialisation, accelerating the global deployment of industrial carbon capture. Montz’s proven, specialist expertise, combined with Koch Engineered Solutions’ global footprint, strongly positions Carbon Clean for delivery at scale. Today’s announcement illustrates to customers, partners and investors how we’re meeting demand for CycloneCC.”
Sairam Potaraju, Managing Director, Julius Montz, said: “This is a win-win partnership, not only for KES and Carbon Clean but also for our customers, as it aims to make carbon capture technology affordable, modular and scalable. This agreement is in line with our philosophy of deploying our advantaged capabilities to high impact opportunities and breakthrough technologies. We look forward to continuing this exciting journey with Carbon Clean.”
The RPB packing technology will be manufactured by Montz in Hilden, Germany. It will be distributed via global facilities owned by Koch Engineered Solutions, enabling fast, efficient regional transportation. CycloneCC is prefabricated and skid-mounted, delivered on road truckable modules. The unit’s standardised, modular design makes it easy to install and integrate on site.
