Registrations now open for the 2nd Decarbonisation Technology Summit, Europe
The Decarbonisation Technology Summit, Europe returns to London in April, together with partners Watlow Electric, Rotork, KBC Global, and the UK Government Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. Collectively putting the need to transition to sustainable fuels and energy, and the technologies to facilitate this, at the forefront of the agenda.
Following the success of its inaugural event in 2022, this years summit welcomes a cross-market community to foster collaboration in the energy transition to net zero. Running from 19-20 April 2023 at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), London, expert led sessions will explore cutting edge global decarbonisation technologies, solutions and supporting infrastructures that will power the transition to sustainable fuels and energy. Registration is now open, with a limited number of early bird tickets available, saving £200.
Come together with representatives from energy companies, downstream oil and gas, renewable energy production, energy intensive industries, technology providers, Governments, and infrastructure and more, providing attendees with the chance to connect across sectors and industries, through dedicated and strategic networking opportunities.
Over the two-days, delegates will also hear expert, industry-leading speakers deliver insights across a carefully curated agenda with a primary focus on driving the transition to sustainable fuels and energy. Sessions will cover a broad range of influences on this main goal including decarbonisation technologies and solutions, plus the emergence of new industrial clusters to drive the energy transition.
Key agenda themes in discussion include:
Addressing the energy trilemma: Does the need for energy security derail the energy transition?
Energy security is rethinking the balance of local coal over imported gas along with nuclear and renewable energy sources. How can we ensure this is consistent with climate goals? Will energy equity become a prominent consideration in the 2023 stakeholder agenda?
Stimulating government regulation, investment, innovation, and public-private partnerships
What can Europe learn from the recent Inflation Reduction Act in the United States? Will the Net Zero Act provide Europe with much-needed tax-breaks for investment in renewables and leaner state aid rules for clean technology?
Energy Efficiency - A focus on footprint measurements and performance- A win-win for short term reductions
How to balance diversifying feedstocks with process optimisation and energy efficiency? Understanding emissions throughout the value chain. What technologies will drive decarbonisation and optimise energy performance in the supply chain?
Electrification is the primary but not the only route for decarbonisation
Electrification is seen as the primary means of decarbonisation. What are the limitations for electrification in different sectors (transport, industry, buildings)? How to build in energy resilience in a turbulent world?
Building the Hydrogen Economy - enabling and making the green hydrogen vision a reality for the European market
How can the value chain share the risks and technologies to speed up the process of low carbon intensity hydrogen becoming available, at an affordable price. How to reduce the time lag on commissioning new production facilities and infrastructure and how to minimise hydrogen emissions by design.
Reducing methane emissions from oil and gas operations
Highlighting progress to zero methane emissions from oil and gas. What more can be done?
The business case for Carbon Capture Storage Utilisation
Will a fresh wave of political and industrial backing create the necessary momentum for CCSU?
Biomass/Waste
Hydrocarbon waste streams, including municipal household and plastic waste as well as agricultural and forestry residues are increasingly regarded as renewable feedstocks for fuels and petrochemicals. How to develop management systems between municipalities, waste management companies, and energy/petrochemical companies which can drive consumer behaviour?
Industrial clusters
The energy transition together with the circular economy is resulting in new industrial networks. How to learn from best practice examples and accelerate general deployment?
What does good corporate sustainability reporting look like in 2023?
How can we ensure progress with the energy transition is consistent with other sustainability goals (biodiversity and human equity)?
A limited number of early bird delegate tickets are now on sale, saving £200.
