ADIP® ULTRA
For cost-effective, enhanced removal of carbon dioxide (CO2). Gas development projects face growing challenges from resources containing increasing amounts of CO2, tighter sales specifications and stricter environmental emission standards. At the same time, operators in the oil and gas industries are looking for solutions to debottleneck existing plants while reducing their operating costs and carbon footprint.
The Shell Catalysts & Technologies ADIP ULTRA gas-treating process for CO2 removal is an ideal solution for helping to meet these requirements in grassroots applications and solvent swap revamp situations.
ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY
Shell Catalysts & Technologies has a long history of developing gas-treating processes; ADIP technology, for example, dates back to the 1950s. Since then, more than 500 Shell operating facilities and licensees have applied the technology, and it has established a track record of high levels of performance and reliability.
Moreover, the organisation continues to improve the technology. In 2000, it introduced ADIP-X technology, which features a significantly upgraded solvent that unlocked a step change in CO2 removal capability. The latest generation came in 2017 withbADIP ULTRA, which has several enhanced design features thatbreduce the cost of CO2 removal even further.
